Psychotherapy training
THEORETICAL BASE:
The Greater Kansas City-Topeka Psychoanalytic Center and the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute, affiliated with the American Psychoanalytic Association, are pleased to offer a two year course in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The objective of this post-graduate training program is to improve psychotherapy skills through comprehension of developmental and psychoanalytic theory. We address the depth of psychoanalytic understanding within an interpersonal relationship in a multi-theoretical context. The full spectrum of psychoanalytic orientations is taught and discussed. The program includes weekly classroom segments, clinical consultation group, and supervision of psychotherapy.
FACULTY:
A multidisciplinary faculty of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other mental health professionals associated with the Greater K.C. Psychoanalytic Institute and the Center, as well as the greater psychoanalytic community, will serve as classroom teachers and as consultants and supervisors of psychotherapy.

TUITION:
$450 per quarter with the first quarter tuition due upon admission to the program. Financial aid will be considered on an individual basis.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should have a master’s or doctoral degree in their field, a current license to practice, and malpractice insurance. Applicants are considered without regard to race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or physical disability. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.
