The Center has much to offer those who have an interest in psychoanalysis — whether professional or academic. To help sustain and support the Center’s programs, we invite you to
become a member.
The Center offers three levels of membership: Regular, Sustaining, and Student
With a Regular Membership of $200, you will have access to local programs and workshops, as well as access to the Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing or PEP-Web (www.pep-web.org) a searchable online database of psychoanalytic journals, books and videos. An individual subscription costs a one-time fee of $1,030
and $141 annually for access to the database. As part of your Center membership, you can enjoy unlimited access to this comprehensive online library.
With a Sustaining Membership of $795, you show your commitment to sustain and support the financial stability of the Center and programming that enriches your practice and ensures continued
opportunities for the psychoanalytic community. As a Sustaining Member, you will receive all of the benefits of Regular Membership plus additional professional and financial leadership
recognition.
Student Membership is offered for $75. Students--undergraduate, graduate, interns, residents--from any academic discipline who are interested in learning more about psychoanalysis are
eligible. Student members are eligible for all Center activities, including access to PEP-Web.
We continue to grow and diversify our membership through initiatives such as:
New programming
Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Thought
Community Seminars
Searching the Psyche through Cinema film series
Workshops
Two outstanding workshops were offered in Spring 2019—A half-day, live videoconference featuring Dr. Beatrice Beebe and a full-day workshop with Dr. Glen Gabbard. Both received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants:
“Dr. Beebe: For the limited time the speaker was given, it was impressive how much she could convey to the audience.”
“Dr. Beebe: Excellent presentation—beautiful integration of science/neuroscience with the art of therapy.”
“Dr. Gabard is so well rounded, knowledgeable, and has a great way of conveying helpful material.”
“Dr. Gabbard was easy to grasp and understand for immediate application—thank you!”
The Center's main program, the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute, which is already recruiting new applicants for 2020.
When you join the Center, you join a group dedicated to advance access to psychoanalytic and psychodynamic training, practice, and treatment availability in our community, and to expand cultural,
